With a changing range of up to 11,000 products a year, Appelrath und Cüpper was faced with the task of improving the user experience in its own online store and reducing returns. With the investment in a 360° Fashion Booth, the fashion is now automatically photographed, cropped, post-processed and uploaded in-house. Some garments are still run through the integrated Picture Instruments retouching service. By automating the process, costs have been reduced, image quality improved and the goods are now available more quickly in the online store.

The automated fashion photography workflow

With a 360° Fashion Booth, you can produce fashion e-commerce photos for all platforms at the touch of a button. After styling the garment, you enter the product number and start the process from the comfort of your computer.

The system controls the high-quality daylight LEDs, triggers the camera and transfers the photos to the computer so that you can directly view the results with the background removed. Once all the perspectives have been photographed and cropped, you complete the process and automatic processing begins while you concentrate on your next product.

If you realize that the item needs to be retouched while taking photos, simply check the retouching box and the images will be uploaded to the Picture Instruments retouching server. Once retouching is complete, you can import the images back into the process so that they are prepared in all required formats based on the retouched original image

Which operating system does the software run on?

Do you need in-depth knowledge of photography?

You don't have to be an expert, but a basic understanding of your camera would be an advantage.

Do I need a subscription for the software?

The 360° Fashion Booth includes a permanent software license and one year of free updates after purchase. For updates beyond the first year, you can choose between a one-time payment and a subscription.

How can 360° product photos be displayed in the online store?

Our software can automatically generate interactive 360° objects directly after taking the photo, which you can integrate into your website.

Can the system be adapted to individual requirements?

Can I edit and retouch the images in the software?

Standard corrections such as color corrections and camera calibration can be configured in the software. Several tools from basic to advanced are also available to improve the mask. If you also want to retouch your images, we recommend using our connected retouching service.

How many shots can you take in an hour?

The speed of fashion photography essentially depends on the styling. Once the product has been prepared, photography and cropping takes place in seconds. Post-processing and fitting into the various formats then takes place automatically in the background while the next object is being prepared.

Who is a 360° Fashion Booth suitable for?

Our 360° Fashion Booth is suitable for anyone who wants to produce their e-commerce images, including model, 360° and video, from A-Z in-house. Alternative Picture Instruments solutions for e-commerce fashion photography are also available for those who are not so keen on 360° and video. Even in the age of AI, the backlighting method is still the reference for automatic cropping. If you want to automatically crop the finest wool and other details in high resolution, our 360° Fashion Booth is the perfect choice. Another advantage is that no image has to leave the computer for automatic cropping with the backlight method. Even though our servers for AI cropping are located in Germany and the images are only stored there for a few seconds for the actual cropping process, some companies have very strict guidelines in this regard, which would only be relevant for a 360° Fashion Booth if manual retouching is to take place. In this case, the in-house effort must be weighed against our Picture Instruments retouching service. If the costs for this studio are too high, we recommend our other Picture Instruments solutions for fashion photography.

Who is already working with a Picture Instruments photo system?

Even if there are different devices for different industries and products, the core of all systems, our modular software, is always the same. It maps the entire workflow, controls cameras, light and turntables and takes care of automatic post-processing. Depending on the industry and individual requirements, more or fewer modules are used or we develop a customized system according to the customer's wishes.
