AI Lab UXP is essential for professional generative AI work in Photoshop

Photoshop supports third-party generative AI models, but if you need 4K, if your result must fit accurately into a selection (no stretching), if you want to use reference images, and if you want to keep an eye on your token usage, AI Lab is the missing piece in your Photoshop workflow.

What AI Lab does better in Photoshop

  • True 4K output (Seedream 4 + Nano Banana Pro), not just “Pro” with limited resolution.
  • Clean selection results: the output matches the aspect ratio, no stretching, less drift.
  • Create & Edit:
    • Create = Prompt → Image (optionally with 2 reference images)
    • Edit = Image + Prompt → Image (your current main image plus any reference images are sent and edited)
  • Up to 2 reference images directly inside the plugin, no workarounds.
  • Prompt History inside the plugin (not available in Photoshop like this).

Smart Resolution Indicator

AI costs time and tokens, especially when your selection doesn’t match the model’s resolution. AI Lab shows you an indicator before you generate:

  • Output too large → you waste time and tokens
  • Output too small → results get blurry

If the indicator turns orange, you immediately know what to do: adjust the model or the selection, then generate.

Cost control
