Digitization of film negatives

If you want to digitize your film negatives yourself, you've come to the right place. With the Ilford Film Developer photographed film negatives can be converted easily and in high quality into normal images (positives).

Free version with helpful functions

If the transport strips are still in the image, they can simply be cropped in the software. The color correction then works fully automatically. Brightness and white balance can also be adjusted in the free basic version using the corresponding sliders and a color wheel. If you then want to influence the color rendering during conversion, as in a professional laboratory, you need to purchase the Pro version. Another advantage of a Pro license is the connection to Photoshop. For example, if you develop a RAW in ACR, you can transfer it from Photoshop to the software and send a LUT with the color correction back to Photoshop.

Tips for photographing negatives

The best results are achieved by mounting the negative in front of a homogeneously illuminated surface and photographing it with a macro lens on a camera with sufficient resolution. To ensure that the film strip is aligned parallel to the sensor plane, we recommend using a holder that is specially designed for this purpose.
